Issues
National Security
To combat the growing and complex national security challenges around the world, it is absolutely critical that we have a well-funded military and strong national defense. I am committed to ensuring that Virginia’s Second District has the tools to fulfill the critical role it plays in maintaining our nation’s strong defense force.
Environment
Coastal Virginians know how to be good stewards of the environment without sacrificing jobs or hurting our economy. Not only is the Chesapeake Bay watershed home to roughly 3,600 species of plants and animals, but it also provides countless economic and recreational opportunities, generating $33 billion each year. I look forward to working with my colleagues in Congress and our local partners in Hampton Roads to support common-sense solutions regardless of party that will help us ensure the health and prosperity of our treasured natural resources.
Veterans
Having served for 10 years in the United States Navy and as the wife of a Navy veteran, I have a unique understanding of the issues facing our veterans today. These men and women were willing to put their life on the line for the freedoms we all enjoy, and we owe them a debt that can never truly be repaid. I am committed to providing them with the high quality care and services they have earned and deserve.
