VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — This week, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce hosted U.S. Representative Jen Kiggans (R-VA-02) for a roundtable discussion in Virginia Beach, Virginia with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th.

“Thank you to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce for hosting today’s One Big Beautiful Bill Roundtable,” said Congresswoman Kiggans. “Today’s discussion focused on how the OBBBA delivers real results for businesses while recognizing there are still a few challenges that need to be addressed. I will continue to prioritize supporting legislation that benefits families in Virginia’s Second District and ensure our Commonwealth remains the best place to live, work, and raise a family. That’s why I voted in favor of the One Big Beautiful Bill which delivers strategic investments to secure our southern border, unleash American energy, strengthen our military, and provide major tax wins for American families, seniors, workers, and job creators.”

“We are grateful to Congresswoman Kiggans for her continued support of pro-growth tax policies that strengthen Virginia’s small businesses and working families through expanded access to economic opportunity,” said Brince Manning, Senior Manager of Regional Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “Her leadership in advancing the One Big Beautiful Bill enables businesses to reinvest in their growth and create new jobs in communities across the country.”

“Partnering with the US Chamber to host roundtables like this with Congresswoman Kiggans gives our regional business leaders an opportunity to communicate how laws are impacting businesses in Hampton Roads,” said Bryan Stephens, President and CEO of the Hampton Roads Chamber. “We were able to communicate with her our concerns about healthcare, shipbuilding, and the impacts on businesses of the recent spending bill that was passed in July. These types of interactions with our elected officials are how we continue to set the conditions so that businesses can be successful.”

“The QBI, section 179 expensing, and no tax on tips all will positively impact my business,” said Robert Pizzini, Chief Executive Officer of iFLY Virginia Beach. “We had major equipment replacements that were unexpected and costly. The 179 deductions will help us recover. QBI has had a notable impact to my LLC and now I can count on it being available which helps in forecasting and tax strategy. I have 40 wonderful people on my team who count on tips. The no tax on tips has positively impacted morale and culture while increasing take home pay and reducing the book keeping burden. A win for all.”
